After their release of single “NASA” in November, 2020, Julien O’Neill and Sam Shea of WARBLY JETS are dropping their new track “LOW RESOLUTION.” Featuring Chris Greatti, “LOW RESOLUTION” is a funk-inspired, genreless labor of love. With such a fantastical mix of genres, the track is set up for a guitar shred from Chris Greatti, comparable to the wailing of “Eddie Van Halen on ‘Beat It,’” says O’Neill.
Staying relevant to the times we are in, “LOW RESOLUTION” shines a light on the fact that, for a lot of us, days have begun to blend together, and life has become mundane. However, the pair has taken an uplifting approach and focuses on what it means to be living for the moment. The WARBLY JETS faced their own socio-economic issues in 2020, losing the bulk of their income due to their inability to tour, but have chosen to focus on the creativity that has flowed in the studio. Without that time and self-reflection, we would not be blessed with the musical gift that is “LOW RESOLUTION.”
The pair sees COVID-19 as an opportunity for artistic growth for all those that are willing to see past the negative vibes of these times, and that’s exactly what they’ve done with “LOW RESOLUTION.” Shea believes “COVID is cracking open opportunities for anyone who is willing to get creative and stir the pot.” They’re prepared to inspire other independent musicians who have been creating music while quarantined at home.
