The Hair Atelier’s David Pierre and Taylor Pappalardo
We need to talk about root health. For the longest time we have been taught that ends and the overall health and wellbeing of the tips were vital to a good hair moment. Of course we had the bamboo brush to the scalp conversation but we must progress into the world of roots and relief. With that said a recent visit to [The Hair Atelier](https://www.thehairatelierla.com) has yielded a timeless education in the course which to deal with hair care.
Call it a reset but it is so much more, expect the most purifying scalp detox with the help of [Christophe Robin's](https://www.christopherobin.com) Cleansing Purifying Salt Scrub on the scalp, as well as the Regenerating Mask with Rare Prickly Pear Oil baptizing the tips. On this day we were greeted by The Hair Atelier’s owners David Pierre and Taylor Pappalardo. The space was an enchanting and intimate venue tucked away in the heart of Weho. With garden accents detailing the salon, the space was more getaway and less brutalist gallery as many have been appropriating. The team was there to talk me through the process.

We did two treatments using the Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scalp Scrub Treatment and The Regenerating Mask with Prickly Pear Seed Oil.

The scalp scrub treatment is specifically used detoxify the scalp removing excess oil and instantly calm and soothe any irritation to the scalp. It’s good to use once a week, especially if you have an oily scalp and dry ends.

We started first with Purifying Scalp Scrub, we wet the hair and I applied a teaspoon size in the palm of my hand adding it to wet hair, evenly spreading throughout, then applied a bit more water to emulsify the product, by doing this it turns into a nice lather like shampoo while the tiny salt beads provide as an exfoliation to the scalp.

It feels amazing during a nice relaxing scalp massage. Then rinsed with water.

This product is considered a shampoo so one scrub should be just enough to cleanse the hair.

We then followed with The Regenerating Prickly Pear Seed Oil Mask to add intense moisture and shine.

Applied on damp hair root to ends then followed with a hot towel to lock in moisture for a few minutes. These two products really complement each other well. A good blow dry is a must!
