Entitled "Shiver", the track narrates the impact that mental illness can have on not only ourselves, but the people around us. Throughout this last year's pandemic, many of us have experienced the melancholy of isolation, and Micky James's new single talks about the negative impact that this has on our relationships.
Despite the narrative coming from a darker place, sonically, the track is ebullient and upbeat. Featuring fuzzed out guitars paired with driving basslines under a stadium-worthy anthemic chorus, "Shiver" is a musical triumph created during a trying time. Micky James has always succeeded in crafting commanding rock n' roll tunes with the swagger and the confidence of a seasoned charismatic frontman, and "Shiver" is no exception.
