HMLTD has arrived, and they’re everything you’ve been waiting for. The London-based rock group has made quite a name for themselves in their niche, underground scene. Having taken innovative steps in incorporating EDM and experimental pop into their sound, we have no doubt that their latest release is going to hit you in all the right, angsty places. Boasting sounds reminiscent of the Ziggy Stardust era David Bowie, the group have just released the stunning animated video for their latest track ‘Why?’.

The story for the video was written by guitarist James, with its visuals created by Collectif 99°, an artist-led collective and organization founded by 10 graduates of the Atelier Supérieur d’Animation in Paris. The animated music video is set in Tokyo, and according to frontman Henry Spychalski, “The song talks about being surrounded by people, but an ever increased alienation and detachment from surroundings, neighbors, and relationships”.
The single and all-new video comes from HMLTD’s long-awaited debut project, West of Eden, set to release this February. The upcoming album will feature a daring collection of songs created to incite conversation about new visions of masculinity, the decadence of western capitalism, and the violence of insecurity and repression.
