National park outfitter, [Parks Project](http://www.instagram.com/parksproject), and iconic eyewear brand, [Garrett Leight](https://www.instagram.com/garrettleight/) California Optical (GLCO) have joined forces to release a quintessentially Californian collection celebrating one of the state’s most beloved parks; Big Sur. The collection includes the first-ever eco-friendly sunglasses from GLCO, engineered with biodegradable acetate derived from vegetable starch and Sport Utility Vision (SUV), which offers 100% UV protection and reduce light intensity.
Big Sur is archetypically Californian, home to the redwoods and coastlines. This limited-edition line includes a t-shirt, beach towel, sweatsuit, water bottle, and upcycled fanny pack all marked by a modern wave pattern inspired by Big Sur’s breathtaking vistas. “Garrett and I have been friends for years and have always admired one another’s work, so we couldn’t be more excited to honor California with this exclusive collection,” said Keith Eshelman, CEO, and Co-founder of Parks Project.
The collection embodies all that Big Sur has to offer, and further goes to appreciate, and preserve, it with a portion of every item from the collection going toward defending the nearby Ventana Wilderness.
