[Envision Festival](https://envisionfestival.com) is a festival set deep in the jungle of Costa Rica full of breathtaking sights, sexy hot jungles and sunny beaches. If other festivals are about “getting lost”, Envision is about "getting found". A great place for meditation and transformation letting you awaken into higher versions of yourself.
The fact that this festival even happens is amazing considering the remote location. It is one of the most beautiful festivals I have attend. The architecture is mind-blowing— every structure is built from scratch, often with what you find in the surrounding jungle. And after they are dismantled, there is no trace left behind. The structures are largely built of banana trees, bamboo and palm trees.
The natural beauty of the surroundings makes you feel almost surreal in a dream as you become a part of the jungle; healing, lush and abundant. Festivals are generally not easy to attend in terms of comfort, and Envision is no different. The heat, the distance, the remote location, the camping (I somehow managed to spend about 4 hours getting my tent erect even though it was designed like an umbrella to just pop up). The dangers in the wildlife… it all makes for an adventure.
But with preparation, proper packing and a patient and positive attitude, this festival is exactly the kind of adventure that will change your life. The festival is attended by friendly, beautiful, elfin-like faces with open hearts that bring to mind the blue people in Avatar. Lots of eye contact, warm lingering hugs and beautiful people telling you that they love you!
After the first day of difficult tent-erecting, yoga, and ecstatic dancing, I woke up in a hammock in the “Temple of people We Trust" by the sound of an angelic voice singing. I wondered if I had died and gone to heaven. The vibe was so pure and loving, I could not believe I was not high on anything but amazing energy.
A scorpion stuck on my bag quickly brought me back to earth as it stung my finger. Off I went to “The Witches Village”, a place full of natural remedies. An array of healing modalities can be found: diverse therapies, energy work, sound healing and spiritual channeling that all offer alternatives to western medicine. They looked after me and nursed me back to health, and off I went to fill my head with their metaphysical offerings.
I often think that many of the festivals I cover are about partying with a bit of learning on the side. If you switch that formula around, you have Envision.
You can learn permaculture, how fungi is saving the world and us, mushroom cultivation, Metaphysics, building communities, herbs, plants (medicinal and nutritional), backbends, forwardbends, getting high on your own supply of kundalini, guilt free sex, Ecstatic dance, puddle cuddles, recycling, how to grow food, making medicine, designing regenerative systems, alternative economies, non-violent communication and self-empowerment, conscious relationships, meditation, hiking, Cordyceps cultivation, praying, surfing, the microbiology of the soil and body and the connection to how you feel, emotional intelligence, breath work, low-impact lifestyle, trauma and our ability to release emotional blocks from the past, DIY Bitters, how to do business in a good way for the planet and people, creating long-lasting positive habits, and living a life you love. They are all tools and skillsets for making a better future in the end; this is what this is all truly about.
A festival is a festival—we think we come to party, to dance, to live, to express, to connect. But what happens to us on the inside is what really matters…inner transformation. A realization that we can live differently; an opening of the heart feeling the Oneness, and knowing we are all connected. These are the experiences that change us to want to create a better world .
The stunning setting, the mind-opening workshops, meeting mostly elevated people from all over the world—people with intentions to be better, to grow, to learn something new that we can use to help ourselves and our fellow humans and the planet. We are the change we want to see, and every single one of us plays a part in it. That is the clear message from envision.
Just when you think your brain will explode from too much information, you can go meditate, breathe and do yoga and then DANCE your ass off (dancing in the jungle feels better then ANYWHERE else I have ever danced). Add in the sunsets and sunrises, it’s an experience you will never forget. It is pure magic.
Excuse me while I go build a permaculture holistic wellness Love Community—who is in?
