Amid their most active and successful year yet, rock sister-duo, Girl Tones, announces their new single, “Got It” just in time to add to their summer setlist. This single offers a fresh sound underlined with an 80s feel and punchy lyrics, typical of Girl Tones and their discography. While the group is currently on tour supporting Silversun Pickups, this single comes just in time for Girl Tone’s festival debut this year. They will be making their appearances at Lollapalooza, Shaky Knees, and Austin City Limits before supporting Cage the Elephant on their tour once again.
Alongside the single is an abstract music video directed by artist Chloe Tyler. This stop-motion video provides unique and fun visuals to accompany the forceful lyrics of “Got It”. Consisting of playful objects such as dice, clay figures, gnomes, and animations representing the sisters themselves, this video is infused with youthful amusement. Reminiscent of the iconography that represents their energetic image, Girl Tones highlights their artistic vision with this video.
With both of the sisters being classically trained with their instruments, their music carries an emotional weight that their listeners can really feel. Their sound is fluid, and yet with each release, they evolve as a harmonious group, developing their unique sound as one.
