Artists are drawn to other artists. Despite all that might be different characteristically or stylistically, they have one shared trait: the innate need to create. A painter is to their favorite writer as a photographer is to a troupe of dancers; a sculptor is to classic films as an illustrator is to a makeup artist. For their Summer 2026 collection, Burberry looked to the UK's music scene for inspiration in an attempt to portray the relationship between different types of artistry: style and sound.
A global powerhouse, the UK music scene is known for its dynamic, diverse, and transformative reach. Burberry took note of these qualities through the use of a bold color palette and distinctive silhouettes. Paying homage to the dedicated and creative work of musicians, the collection features many pieces handmade to showcase a unique material or an innovative design. It stands to represent how the emotions and craftsmanship we hear can translate to what we wear.
The show took place in Perks Field within the Kensington Palace Gardens of London, England, which has hosted the British luxury fashion house in the past. The quaint garden amidst a bustling cityscape was transformed into the perfect stage for the collection’s reveal, including archival music from the UK’s own Black Sabbath and several elements nodding towards its summer live music scene.
In a world where everything can be anything, Burberry is dissolving the walls between artistic mediums.
