Rhythm, movement, freedom, noise, expression—the body extending past its edges—and that guttural, human communion of the mosh pit. Nothing mirrors it. Nothing replaces it. A dance party is, after all, our closest thing to a universal language. At Los Angeles’s nearly 100-year-old Fonda Theater, people certainly danced (just not on their own) to a special performance by Robyn, hosted by Acne Studios and Spotify.

Robyn’s performance marks her long-awaited return. A close friend of Acne Studios, she performed her latest single, “Dopamine,” as well as some unreleased material and her ever-iconic hits, such as “Missing U” and “Dancing On My Own.” Isabella Lovestory and BROWNSKINHAZEL opened the night, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

At the party, Acne Studios and Spotify celebrated their ongoing collaboration, launched in July 2024 and now fully in stride. Friends of the brand and die-hard Robyn fans alike (including her top Spotify listeners, who were invited to the intimate affair) reveled in the spectacle of her return, many of them brandishing Acne Studios’ iconic logo like a badge of honor. It was a meeting point of style, sound, and shared devotion.

The guest list read like a roll call of Los Angeles’s creative vanguard: Kyle MacLachlan, Maika Monroe, Sky Ferreira, Taylour Paige, Miranda July, Adéla, Scout Willis, Jordan Firstman, Vivian Wilson, Lykke Li, and Channel Tres were among the many glittering fixtures orbiting the dance floor. It was one of those nights when everyone seemed to know they’d remember it.
As the final notes dissolved into the rafters, the room hummed with a charge that refused to fade. Guided by Acne Studios and Spotify’s shared vision, Robyn’s return felt like a celebration of risk, reinvention, and the thrill of showing up—because, of course, all adventurous women do.
