For a few brief days in June, art enthusiasts can seek refuge from the brutal Athenian heat and feast their eyes upon the works from six galleries from the United States, United Kingdom, Sweden, and Austria at the Art Athina Summer Pop Up. Taking place in the heart of Athens, a diversity of art will be shown within the walls of the former office-turned-gallery space. Sculptors, painters, installationists, and photographers represented by galleries across the globe will be shown, in addition to works from 34 Greek galleries.
Loyal Gallery in Stockholm, Sweden is proud to present the work of Jim Thorell at the Art Athina Summer Pop Up. Thorell, a painter, has studied all throughout Sweden, as well as in Hanoi, Vietnam and Kanazawa, Japan. The influence of Thorell’s international education is evident in his jovial paintings.
Art Athina Summer Pop Up will also be showing the works of artists represented by Edel Assanti and Soft Opening in London, Anat Ebgi in Los Angeles, Sophie Tappeiner Gallery, and Zeller Van Almsick Gallery in Vienna.
With liberal brushstrokes and vibrant use of color, Thorell’s work will be bringing joy to the faces of Athens.
