Jacob Collier | Djesse (Vol.2) Release Party
Last night at the Flamingo Estate, a crowd of well-dressed music heavy hitters converged to celebrate the ambitious release of Quincy Jones's protégé Jacob Collier’s Djesse (Vol.2). Hosted by Chandelier Creative’s Richard Christiansen, the night began with a cocktail party which featured and immersive experience which allowed guests to visit 3 spaces with complementing music.
Collier’s 18 month creative apex yield 4 albums the first 3 of which were showcase in these spaces including his lush orchestral driven album Djesse (Vol.1) in the garden, and intimate acoustic Djesse (Vol.2) in the brutalist bathhouse, which was complemented by a mezcal tasting from Madre Mezcal. Finally, the yet to be released Djesse (Vol.3) was showcased in the estates leopard lined play room.
The evening culminated in a performance in the garden pavilion of the estate, which offered up a full tasting menu of the various sonic tapas the young musician had created. Collier performed with his band, comprised of Portuguese singer and multi-instrumentalist MARO, New York based singer-songwriter Becca Stevens, bassist Sam Wilkes, and drummer Christian Euman.
