For those that aren’t privy to the beach paradise that is Montauk, NY, all it takes is a step into Bob Melet’s _Melet Mercantile_ to gather its essence: Warm Weather and Vintage Nostalgia. The private showroom turned vintage retail store features almost everything timeless, from wall mounted fish to vinyl records, and this summer: GUCCI. As the collection pursues a community driven interest in connecting the past with the present by way of 80’s style tailoring and varying styles of loafer’s, its summer twist is granted in both utility and choice of material; featuring items like Wicker Hand Bags and Raffia Palm Wide Brim Hats to name a few.

Almost as fast as summer seems to pass, and despite how sad we may be about it, this vacay driven collection is only set to last from July 3rd - July 28. It is during this time that Melet Mercantile will feature Gucci classics like floral wall prints and maximalist ornamentation atop a wide range of Melet’s signature vintage goods. While the collection’s retail may be brief, its impact intends to ensure future summer fun, as GUCCI’s contributions to local foundations such as Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation and A Walk On Water support the very thing that inspired this collection: Montauk’s free-spirited, beach town community.
