Dedicated to architect and designer Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999). A leading creative of 20th century design, pioneer of modernity, and a visionary of her time who contributed to defining the meaning of a new art de vivre. The Louis Vuitton Foundation pays tribute to the innovators legacy as a architect and overall designer through an exhibiton showcasing connections between her career works between design, art, and architecture. The exhibiton honoring her legacy is marking the 20th anniversary since Perriand has passed. From October 2nd, 2019 to February 24th, 2020, the exhibition will be on view retracing the architectural work of Charlotte Perriand. Her input and creations presage current discussions about the role that women and nature in our society play. Visitors will have the special opportunity to engage directly with the world of modernity through researched and faithful reconstitutions by included works of art, chosen by Charlotte Perriand. This is embodying her vision of a “synthesis of the arts.” The life works of Charlotte Perriand invite us to reimagine the role that art plays amongst in our society.
