Claudia Li Spring/ Summer 2020

by Morgan Vickery

Reflecting on four years since the brand’s inception, Claudia Li celebrates her Spring/ Summer 2020 collection in solidifying her brand identity. Wide-leg pants, tailored jackets, pleated skirts, and more impressively, UV-reactive fabrics reoccur as staples to the Li look.

Unique to the SS20 collection is the main print, inspired by a photo of Li’s parents in their 20s, flowing on a mix of silhouettes in silk jacquard, chiffon, and cotton sateen. Also new to the Li look, paracord-braided handbags, including a new pleated “dumping” shape, and collaboration on sandals with TEVA. And while the brand’s factory workers inspire jumpsuits, wide-brimmed hiking hats point to Li’s love of nature.

Claudia’s dedication in design has become innovation, whether that’s the development of her prints or the hidden logos which reveal themselves in sunlight. This playful stance on dressing independent, strong women has become the central mission to the brand, which continues to grow in attention season by season.
