Ariel Beesley is the LA born and raised model/musician who’s bringing back an ‘80s nostalgia with a modern twist. Referred to as the “Blondie of our generation”, Beesley combines an edgy, icy blonde look with bright pops of color in her makeup and wardrobe. Her music interweaves upbeat rhythms with cheery synthesizer chords, complementing her voice, which ranges from raw to sweet in a single breath. Beesley’s integration of the visual and auditory gives one the sense that they are watching something out of a John Hughes movie come to life in the present day.
We asked her to show us a little of her life behind the scenes.
The night before the show, making my first merch ever. In my living room. Was a crafty night.
I wear my heart on my sleeve and now so does my merch.
I like to get a new outfit for the show. I usually wear some sort of crazy ‘80s prom dress but of this show I opted for this slip dress.
I never ever wear makeup. Besides maybe a red lip. I like to get my makeup done for shows because it makes me feel special. Plus, I like to feel like an ‘80s superhero and makeup artist Lilly Keys did exactly that.
On stage! Wooo there’s no place I love more in the world. Was so special to play in a sold out venue.
