Wavves by Jesse Lirola
More than three years since their last release, Wavves has revealed their newest single “Sinking Feeling.” The three-minute track rebrands the phrase “existential dread,” defining the combination of pop and punk. “Sinking Feeling” is just a taste of the band’s impending release, and materialized out of a relationship with Dave Sitek of TV, known for his work with Weezer and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. "Sinking Feeling is a song about a wave of depression that keeps coming back. It’s that sinking feeling that drags you down and no matter what you do or where you go it follows you," offers Nathan Williams, singer-songwriter of Wavves.
Formed in 2008, the San Diego based band has been named “one of the 100 Best Pop Punk Bands of all time” by Consequence of Sound. Stay tuned for more to come after re-signing with Fat Possum Records and watch the video for “Sinking Feeling” below!
