However, various challenges weigh us down. Entrepreneurs face many challenges from not having enough cash flow, experience, or the right knowledge to run and scale their venture. Kale Goodman and Trevor Cowley are business owners helping people become more tactical and strategic, eventually scaling their business by sharing their skills. Through their podcast, Real Business Owners LLC, Kale and Trevor discuss tips to succeed in the business world while sharing what has worked for them and some common pitfalls to avoid. The duo joined the entrepreneurial space at a young age. At the time, Kale was 20 and Trevor was 19, and they were working as sales reps. Kale started a forex side hustle, and unfortunately, he lost his high-paying job at a tax company he was working for when his boss came to know about it. Trevor met some shady characters early on in sales that ultimately led him to a 4-year drug addiction that he conquered in 2008. He went back into sales after getting clean and linked up with Kale again. Trevor started as a sales rep for Kale and a few years in, Trevor bought in as an owner. According to the duo, the experience of setting up a business and working in the various fields inspired them to start Real Business Owners LLC. They wanted to be a truthful voice in the marketplace by creating a space where entrepreneurs could learn and share ideas. “Success is a process, and you learn something new with each step you take,” notes Kale. Trevor adds that the path to fulfilling your dreams is daunting, and not everything works out as you had planned. While some obstacles are completely unavoidable, learning from the experiences of others helps you avoid some. Listening to success stories also shows you that it’s possible to attain your goals. In their journey to setting up their business, the duo has encountered countless obstacles. Kale notes that at one point, they didn’t have enough money to even pay their employees, but by choosing not to give up, they managed to rise above it. Kale and Trevor shifted their focus into building a solid brand name and revised their strategies, helping them solidify their spot. Kale and Trevor both agree that a common mistake many entrepreneurs make is getting into the space without a clear strategy. “Too often, people get so caught up in the end result that they forget about the process,” says Trevor. Kale adds that one of the most important questions every entrepreneur should ask themselves is what they wish to gain by the end of it all. This guides you in making your strategy, allowing you to pay close attention to things that will help you achieve your goals. “Money is just money,” says Kale, “On the other hand, wealth is more than that. It’s who you are surrounded by, the quality of life you are living, and the general impact your actions have on society.” Kale and Trevor add that your dedication and commitment towards your goals play a significant role in determining your success. Their advice to young entrepreneurs is to focus on habits and routines that cultivate growth and always remember your network is your net worth. You are the pulse of the business. To become successful, you must be ready and willing to put in the work and persevere through obstacles. As Kale and Trevor continue to thrive, their goal is to serve more entrepreneurs and help them scale their ventures by sharing informative content.
