After nearly fifteen years of releases, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are still finding new routes to present their unique sound. This past Sunday, the Melbourne-bred beacons of psychedelic rock played a larger-than-life version of their recent release, ‘Phantom Island.’ The performance took the rock flair of King Gizzard and turned it orchestral, led by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra’s conductor Sarah Hicks. Hicks produced a memorable evening for the 25th annual KCRW Festival at The Hollywood Bowl, and helped concert goers seek solace on Phantom Island.
