On February 19, 2021, Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly celebrated their 40th anniversary of 1981 double album _Live in New Orleans._ The vinyl reissue comes in two forms, a [black double-LP](https://shop.urbanlegends.com/products/maze-featuring-frankie-beverly-live-in-new-orleans-2lp) and [special white vinyl](https://shop.urbanlegends.com/products/maze-featuring-frankie-beverly-live-in-new-orleans-limited-edition-2lp). The white vinyl pays tribute to Frankie Beverly’s stage outfits, holding nostalgia for those that attended Maze’s shows. After crossing paths with Marvin Gaye, the band toured as Gaye’s opening act, and took Gaye’s advice to rename themselves Maze. After selling the most copies of their debut album _Maze featuring Frankie Beverly_ in Louisiana, the band named New Orleans their home base, tipping off their fifth album’s title, _Live in New Orleans_. For the past 20 years, they have been the closing act for Essence Fest.
