The singer/songwriter’s, sex and body positive message is well needed in the current climate which is introducing a new was of self-positive self-care amidst the Jazz revival.  When asked about the translation of her track into a stripped back offering Malia offered up her technique, “One of my favorite parts of working on the original version of Broke Boy was figuring out the harmonies. I wanted to strip it down in this version so that you can really hear them because honestly they just bring me so much joy!”
