The MM6 Maison Margiela’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection serves as a celebration of our return to “normalcy”—whatever that may look like now. A return to giddiness, to excitement for dressing up is reflected in denim trousers adorned with red and pine green mylar chess boards and swooning satin evening dresses.

The MM6 Maison Margiela line was inspired by a variety of the surrealist women artists whose rebellious tendencies echoed throughout the pieces—Claude Cahun, Leonora Carrington and Dorothea Tanning to name a few. Their influence is most felt in the unique touches throughout the collection, from lavender tea bags worn as jewelry to chains of ‘broken’ pearls.

In continuation with a tradition of the house, MM6 Maison Margiela will be releasing 50 limited-edition souvenir t-shirts, serving as a physical reminder of the sense of community which characterizes the house’s shows.
