Lexi Aviles is wise beyond her years. The 21-year old singer-songwriter, who performs under the name [Love You Later](https://www.instagram.com/heyloveyoulater/), sings of the ins-and-outs of a relationship on her sophomore EP, _Heaven Is Without You._
Kicking off the EP is “That’s The Way It Goes,” a blasé yet dreamy reminiscence of the demise of a relationship. Make no mistake for Aviles’ ethereal sound though — the singer is definitely not seeing love through rose-colored glasses.
Aviles ambitiously explores the many sub-genres of pop on the five track EP, mixing synth pop with a killer drumbeat on “Making Plans,” and delving into sad pop on “Said That You’d Be There,” which also — sweetly — acknowledges Gen Z favorite _Freaky Friday_.

“Emily,” the fourth song on the EP is the most starkly heartbreaking song in a lineup that deals pretty much exclusively with the topic. A remix of a fan favorite from Love You Later’s first EP, “Emily” grapples with the world-shattering pain of rejection.
Closing out _Heaven Is Without You_ is the head-bopping “Blindfolded,” a mixture of Aviles’ bubblegum lyrics backed by synths — the perfect song to add to any dance party playlist.
Speaking of _Heaven Is Without You_, Aviles said, “_Heaven Is Without You_ illustrates the ups and downs, twists and turns, fun times and bad times of a relationship that was suppressing me as a person and therefore, as an artist as well. It’s about realization and acceptance and letting go and growing into my own whole person without needing a relationship (especially a toxic one) to fill in the gaps.”
