Co-created and executive produced by Shannon Burke and Jonas and Josh Pate, _Outer Banks_ is an edge-of-your-seat drama set on the eponymous coast of North Carolina. When a tight-knit group of teens from the “wrong side of the tracks” uncovers a chilling long-hidden secret, it sets off a chain-reaction of illicit adventure that the teens will never forget.

**Can the tension between the Pogues and the Kooks serve as this microcosm for the tension in the US at the present?**
Definitely; you’re seeing this divide in class and the social structures becoming very much split. There is a lot of turmoil with privilege.
**How do each of you relate or not relate to your respective characters?**
I relate to Pope where he has that pressure put on him. You can see how it tears him; all his decisions had to be made based on getting out of the system. His whole tribe had to ‘work work work.’ I think he values his friends more.

**There is this sense of deep rooted friendship throughout the series. So how was shooting together in the Carolinas build that chemistry?**
I feel like we always kind of had it. We are all genuine friends. Maddy says a lot that every time you see us laughing in the show it’s genuine laughter. We crack each other up. We could go through the series and I could tell you every inside joke that just so happened to slip through. We still hang out even after shooting. We are all at each other’s houses.
