Experimental RnB artist, [Joël](https://www.instagram.com/blamejoel/), is a dancer, singer, and songwriter. His musical beginnings started from being inspired by his church’s gospel music, which turned into a fondness of alternative grunge bands, such as Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana.
The 22 year old Toronto based artist is not afraid to express his emotions and shows strength in vulnerability. In 2018 he released two singles, “Vent” and “Type,” which garnered him support from the likes of Pigeons and Planes, Noisey, DJBooth, and Revolt TV. Both songs are about relationships he has endured and are backed up by a smooth mix of fast melodies and a bold beat that create a beautifully blended melody complementing the heartfelt catchy lyrics putting the viewer deep in their emotions. In September 2019 Joël released his hugely anticipated project, “GRUNGE GOSPEL - SIDE A.”

Conveniently released on Valentine's Day, Joël’s newest single is about a complicated situation he was recently freed from. “I’m really tryna hear you out but…” is an ethereal song speaking about his veracious experience and feelings. The song holds true to his alternative RnB style. Joël’s newest single comes from his upcoming “GRUNGE GOSPEL - SIDE B.”

In regards to his newest single, Joël says, “When I first sketched out the song I knew it was very special. I tucked it away cause i haven't gone through the pain and the complications the chords and the melody made me feel, in other words, I had a dope idea but didn't know what to say. Fast forward, 7-8 months later I found myself sitting on my bed battling thoughts in my head from a weird situationship I just got out'v. Shit was complicated between me & her and I was tired of the back and forth so instead of chilling in my thoughts I pulled out my notepad and began to write…long story short the song wrote itself. This song is the bridge that connects all the broken communication we had. It's a lot of the things I wanted to say but didn't.. shit hits differently when you lose all trust in someone.. no matter how hard you try to work things out certain shit you just can't come back from.”
