Stockholm-based design brand [Hem](https://us.hem.com/) recently opened their first pop up shop in San Francisco a couple weeks ago. This shop, conceptualized by Los Angeles-based [Jonathan Olivares](https://www.jonathanolivares.com/), showcases Hem pieces, new and old, with the shopping district of Hayes Valley as the backdrop. Enlisting the help of surfboard shapers Scott Anderson and Skip Engblom, the shop points to California surf and skate culture as an inspiration.
The shop welcomes the new colorways of the Last Stool by [Max Lamb](http://maxlamb.org/). The two additions to Hem’s collection, yellow and white and blue and orange, decorate the space with their popular shape. Spun from one sheet of metal, the pieces are meant to be lightweight and simple. In addition to the single color and solid copper and brass, the splattered enamel variations welcome the two new colorways. While it is simple, the stool does not lack the attention to detail Hem commands, with Max Lamb personally training the manufacturers on how to properly splatter the stools to obtain the signature look.
