In true-to-form social distancing, the beloved gallery is taking exhibitions digital with their newest installation “Drawings for Distanced Figures” by artificial realist painter [George Condo](https://www.instagram.com/artistgeorgecondo/). Live [online](https://www.hauserwirth.com) on April 3rd, Hauser & Wirth will feature a series of Condo’s newest works, all created in the past three weeks while in isolation in his home state of New York. Condo’s mixed media approach of crayon, pencil and ink, in conjunction with his layered drawings are representative of the many psychological states that we inhabit during this bizarre time of isolation and instability. For Condo, this period of isolation is not only bringing out negative emotions such as fear and paranoia, but also the placidity of being able to work completely unbothered. “I love to draw and in the usual context of privacy, one doesn’t think of the term isolation or forced separation, rather it’s a space to create without being watched,” he said of his seclusion. Hauser & Wirth will donate 10% of the gross profits from sales of all works in all of its online exhibitions, including this show, to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization as part of the gallery’s global #artforbetter initiative. * * * George Condo.
