[Friends With Benefits](https://www.fwb.help) has announced its first in a series of DAO collections, [FWB.art](https://www.fwb.art/), during [Miami Art Basel 2021.](https://artbasel.com/miami-beach) The project coincides with the launch of its NFT Team, and will be a continuation of FWB’s exploration of the relationship between IRL and url as Web3 moves into cities and the physical world.
Friends with Benefits is the “ultimate cultural membership” powered by a community of Web3 artists, operators, and thinkers all invested in their cryptocurrency ($FWB). The company was started by [Trevor McFedries](https://www.instagram.com/whatdotcd/), a veteran of the music industry and tech entrepreneur known for co-creating CG personality [Lil Miquela](https://www.instagram.com/lilmiquela/). The FWB.art project explores how communities can push decentralization and blockchain technology into the future.
Starting December 1st, eight minting portals can be found around Miami which contain access FWB.art, featuring eight artist renditions of FWB’s iconography. From there, participants can unlock access to an NFT mint with limited edition pieces. Then, on December 8th, wallets holding all eight birds will be tracked and those who completed the task can unlock future FWB.art benefits, including an NFT granting holders to ‘alpha leaks,’ access to the FWB Discord, and early access to future projects.
