Ballon Rouge Collective has an upcoming project in NYC, you pinned me down like a butterfly on the wall curated by Kathy Battista. The project features Royal College of Art alum Marie Jacotey, as she confronts the autobiographical “with a wry sense of humor and irony, most often featuring female protagonists, alone or with others, and at times with accompanying text.”

The text and images tell a very 21st-century female narratives that are close to the west coast punk aesthetic. For the exhibit in New York Jacotey will be showing a recent body of work with an increasing role of pattern and floral motifs that will cover the drawings.
