[](#)[](#) Christie’s Auction Highlights Come to Highland Avenue An impressive collection of post-war and contemporary art is showing in Los Angeles this week Last Thursday, Christie's set up shop at the new Los Angeles gallery UFO Space to display some highlights from their upcoming 20th Century auction in New York (May 8-13th). Among the always impressive Warhol's and Koons', a few pieces especially stand out: Ai Weiwei's "Map of China" made from Iron Wood culled from dismantled Qing Dynasty temples shines darkly in a corner; a cute Max Ernst pair of paintings entitled "Mr. Sippi," and "Mrs. Sippi" repose demurely on the wall; El Anatsui's "Delta" commands the room—composed of undulating aluminum and copper wire, the piece is overshadowed only by the staggering collection of jewels and luxury handbags (think Birkins) occupying the same room.
