For two sold-out nights, Aerosmith claimed the stage of the Hollywood Bowl, turning the amphitheater into a celebration of music history in “California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends.” Presented by Live Nation-Hewitt Silva, the concert series saw Aerosmith take control of the iconic stage, with a cultural history mirroring the band’s in influence and impact. Backlit with the Aerosmith name in silver, the band united rock-and-roll and California history into a pair of high-energy performances.

The evenings’ set guided fans through the band’s history, bringing other artists on stage as proof of their legacy. On the first night, Liv Tyler and Alicia Silverstone, stars in the “Crazy” music video, introduced Aerosmith to the stage, while fellow musicians Dave Grohl and Johnny Depp joined the band in performances of “Back in the Saddle” and “Train Kept a Rollin” respectively. Aerosmith also performed hits including “Dream On” and “Sweet Emotion,” with frontman Steven Tyler perfecting his iconic scream in the former.

At the emotional apex of each night, Steven Tyler expressed his gratitude to his bandmates, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton, and then announced the return of Aerosmith’s original drummer, Joey Kramer. Together again, the entire band, including the new drummer John Douglas, performed “Walk This Way.” For the second night, Aerosmith reunited with Run-D.M.C. for the song. Other guests for the second concert included Lzzy Hale and Tom Morello, among others, performing their own renditions of Aerosmith songs. With the icons they inspired, Aerosmith proved once again their musical prowess, solidifying their identity as rock-and-roll legends.
