Emerging sister rock duo, Girl Tones, released their new single “Blame” and simultaneously announced the joining of burgeoning rock label, Parallel Vision. Although early in their career, Girl Tones seems to have mastered the innate angst essence of existing in the rock genre, especially as young women. Sisters Kenzie and Laila, both originally trained in classical instruments such as the cello and piano, quickly learned to utilize these talents as they ventured into the exclusive rock genre.
Girl Tones is a great refresher for the rock community when it comes to unique storytelling and youthful angst expression. Highlighted in their new single “Blame”, the duo shares insightful yet cathartic lyrics and an accompanying music video that takes place in a retro dive motel. These two elements, coupled together, offer alternative rock listeners a single with a fun and unserious twist on the rather personal lyrics.
While the excitement and praise surround the duo as their new single drops, they previously earned their bearings last year touring with major alternative rock band, Cage the Elephant. Additionally, it happens to be one of the band members, Brad Shultz, who is responsible for founding Parallel Vision and signing Girl Tones as the first band to the label. Focusing on cultivating emerging and youthful rock talent, Parallel Vision, as well as Girl Tones, are the ones to watch for all alternative rock connoisseurs.
