The month-long arts initiative, [CURRENT: LA FOOD](www.currentla.org ), takes place throughout Los Angeles October 5th through November 3rd. It will deliver food-themed, museum-quality public art throughout the City. In partnership with the Institute of Contemporary Art Los Angeles (ICA LA), LA’s Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) commissioned 15 artists to take on the subject of food accessibility and equity. All CURRENT: LA FOOD events will be free and open to the public. The experiences will be multi-sensory, with visitors being able to hear, see and interact with the never-before-seen art works. The exhibitions will take place in 15 public parks and will focus on the topic of food and global issues connected with food such as food accessibility and equity. Artworks will vary from a replica of an Iraqi palace and flaming hot Cheetos structure, to a live performance by the S.H.I.N.E. Mawusi Women’s African Drum Circle. Visitors will be able to participate in fermentation workshops and many other community-driven and celebratory food events. CURRENT:LA FOOD is curated by Asuka Hisa and Jamillah James of ICA LA with curatorial committee members Lauren Mackler, Diana Nawi, and Marco Rios. To find out more about the partnership between artists and community members that will shed a light on the precarious balance between pleasure and peril found in food today. * * * **LA Historic Park (Chinatown/Elysian Park):** \-       Artist: Adrià Julià \-       Public Programming Community Partner: Los Angeles Food Policy Council’s  **Valley Recreation Center (North Hollywood)** \-       Artist: Shana Lutker \-       Public Programming Community Partner: Christopher Reynolds  **Reseda Recreation Center (Reseda)** \-       Artist: Eva Aguila \-       Public Programming Community Partner: Across Our Kitchen Table’s  **Pan Pacific Park (Fairfax, Mid-City)** \-       Artist: Michael Rakowitz  \-       Public Programming Community Partner: Leyna Lightman  **Palms Park (Rancho Park)** \-       Artist: Ry Rocklen  \-       Public Programming Community Partner: Babsi Loisch  **Delano Recreation Center (Van Nuys)** \-       Artists: Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs & Annie Gimas \-       Public Programming Community Partner: Women's Center for Creative Work  **Roger Jessup Park (Pacoima)** \-       Artist: Emily Marchand \-       Public Programming Community Partner: Bed & Breakfast  **Martin Luther King, Jr. Park (Exposition Park, Los Angeles)** \-       Artist: Jazmin Urrea \-       Public Programming Community Partner:  SEE-LA (Sustainable Economic Enterprises of Los Angeles)  **Exposition Park Rose Garden (Expo Park, Adams District)** \-       Artist: Michael Queenland \-       Public Programming Community Partner: Center for the Arts Eagle Rock  **Leimert Plaza Park (Leimert Park Village)** \-       Artist: Nari Ward \-       Public Programming Community Partner: SÜPRSEED’s   **Venice Beach (Venice)** \-       Artists: Cooking Sections  \-       Public Programming Community Partner: Human Resources LA  **Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center (West Hills)** \-       Artist: Nonfood \-       Public Programming Community Partner: Lucia Fabio  **Barnsdall Park (East Hollywood)** \-       Artists: Julio César Morales & Max La Rivière-Hedrick  \-       Public Programming Community Partner:  LA Eats Itself (LAEI) **Pershing Square (Downtown Los Angeles)** \-       Artist: Nancy Lupo \-       Public Programming Community Partner: The Golden Dome  **Ted Watkins Memorial Park (Watts)** \-       Artists: Torolab \-       Public Programming Community Partner: LA Commons
