Burberry x Maxfield Pop Up
Last night, summer finally hit with the launch of Burberry and Maxfield’s pop-up. The event was explosive with live beats by The Black Madonna setting up the tone for a night of lush luxury. Over 500 guests came out to enjoy the fete featuring the new Thomas Burberry Monogram collection which is exclusively available for the next two weeks at the iconic Los Angeles shopping haven.
First presented in August 2018 the monogram was designed by Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci in collaboration with British art director and graphic designer Peter Saville. The pattern is rooted in 20th century Thomas Burberry motifs in the houses extensive archive. The pattern celebrates the house’s founder and heritage with the TB detail which has been established as a new signature house code in the brand’s classic beige and brown. The monogram is then further detailed in a stripe of red, white, and black.
The full range of clothing for men and women as well as a window display of all the must have monogram pieces were encased in the Prouvé structure. The layout played with the architectural language of historic British royal buildings. This abstracted kingdom of monogram castles built of cardboard was juxtaposed with silver and gold mirrored cubes, while rectangular structures were covered in the monogram packing tape.
On rotation projected above party goers was a Nick Knight directed film starring Gigi Hadid depicted in an array of outfits from the collection which transforms her from boy to gentleman to girl to lady embracing four distinct identities that are well celebrated by the house.
The Burberry x Maxfield Pop Up is open daily until June 10
