Pat is a Chinese-Canadian genre-bending artist who’s best known for his futuristic sounds, while Party Pupils is future funk producer whose dynamic releases have amassed over 100 million streams and counting. Both creatives in their own light, it’s only right they collaborate once again on the indie-disco-fueled double-A side, _I Want You / Alaska._ Released via Australian taste-making imprint [Club Sweat](https://www.instagram.com/club.sweat/), _I Want You / Alaska_ arrives on the heels of Pat and Party’s previous collaborations, on "From The Back" in 2019 which was premiered by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 and more recently ["So Fine](https://open.spotify.com/track/14qkKbAfG7tYYrgtlZXZFr?si=367df46e0a174dd5).” Speaking on the new release, Party Pupils reveals, “Last winter, Pat and I got really inspired over the Christmas holiday and felt some darker, cold weather vibes coming from our musical labs. We decided to throw down together on a few ideas we had and make them clubby and fun. We ended up making 6 to 8 songs remotely, at a totally different range of speeds and styles, and this is the first batch coming out.” Pat Lok explains, “So ‘I Want You’ is a vocal sample we just liked the sound of, which we added after writing the main track idea… there’s no personal meaning there! \[laughs\] I won’t lie, it just sounded cool. ‘Alaska’ is the opposite actually. For us, this record evokes an open, vast mountain landscape overlooking a glacial expanse... before it hits this more intense drop. We just dropped our [first NFT on Catalog](https://beta.catalog.works/patlokmusic/pat-lok-party-pupils-alaska) for Alaska that visually translates how we hear the song.” Regardless, both artists just hope listeners can have fun and dance. As long as you’re enjoying yourself, their music is meant to be an escape.   Pat Lok adds, “Get crazy. Run it in the bath, or when your Bumble date comes over. Or when you get the Sunday scaries.”
