For Spring 2021, Lanvin creative director Bruno Sialelli explores a dialogue between the real and the imaginary. Heroes and heroines unfold into drama, with gestures of quintessential Frenchness—blouses, foulards, slender tailleurs, eased suiting, a palette of sun-bleached neutrals and pastels. The collection images—created during lockdown—connote a desire to be free amidst an imagined palatial ideal.

There are echoes of key Lanvin styles, representing the subconscious versus the conscious—jaguars reference the ‘Pencil’ bag, for instance—and desire is of course at the core.
