Saint Laurent Productions is proud to announce three featured films in competition in the 2024 official selection of the Cannes Film Festival. Taking on the role as a motion picture subsidiary of its legendary predecessor, Saint Laurent Productions marks the first first fashion house to count the full-fledged production of films among its activities. The division came as a product of the visionary Anthony Vaccarello, who has assuredly taken the reins of that swift chariot steering the brand into the future, whilst echoing the cinematic breadth and nuances of his previous collections.

Films in this year’s selection include: Emilia Perez by Jacques Audiard, The Shrouds by David Cronenberg and Parthenope by Paolo Sorrentino. With talents like Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez, Edgar Ramirez, Vincent Cassel, Diane Kruger, Guy Pearce and many more.

Parthenope, a feminine epic, devoid of heroism but brimming with an inexorable passion for freedom, takes the viewer through the perfect Capri summer, the lightheartedness of youth, and Naples, with all its faces of love- all those true, pointless and unspeakable loves. Life, be it ordinary or memorable, knows how to be very long. The passing of time offers up a vast repertoire of emotions, and there, in the background, so close and so very far, is Naples, this ineffable city that bewitches, enchants, screams, laughs and always knows how to hurt you.

In The Shrouds, Karsh, a businessman, inconsolable since the death of his wife, invents a revolutionary technology that enables the living to monitor the dearly departed in their shrouds. One night, when multiple graves, including that of Karsh’s wife, are desecrated, Karsh sets out to track down the perpetrators.

Emilia Perez tells the story of Rita, a lawyer at a large firm, overqualified and undervalued, who is more interested in getting criminals off the hook than bringing them to justice. When a cartel leader hires her to help him withdraw from his business and realize a plan he has been secretly preparing for years, she is given an unexpected way to become the woman she has always dreamt of being.
