Uniting music enthusiasts and philanthropists, the Lang Lang International Music Foundation held its bi-annual gala on the evening of Wednesday, March 4, in New York City. The foundation has supported musical education for children and has nurtured early musical talent since 2008. The gala was dedicated to emphasizing the importance of music education for children.

The evening featured a myriad of performances by esteemed talents, including the foundation’s namesake, pianist Lang Lang, Taiwanese-Australian violinist Ray Chen, the jazz and pop sensation Antonia Bennett, and singer-songwriter aron!. Spotlighting the children, students from PS 214K Michael Friedsam School, as well as seven exceptionally gifted students from the foundation's Young Scholars program, presented their skills to gala attendees.

Throughout the evening, leaders in music were recognized for their contributions to music education. The Lang Lang International Music Foundation® Philanthropy Award was presented to Steinway & Sons, and Jung Eun Hong of New York City Public Schools was the recipient of Teacher of the Year.
Operating since 2008, the foundation has several programs under its repertoire to foster a musical connection with young children. The foundation’s Key of Inspiration program, launched in 2013, serves 250,000 students in underserved communities globally, expanding their artistic knowledge. Moreover, the foundation’s Music Heals initiative supports children facing significant hardships by providing them comfort and opportunities for creative expression to help ease their challenges. Bringing the community together, the gala was vital in highlighting the importance of supporting arts education and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to explore their musical potential.
