Hailing from Arlington, Texas, the 18-year-old rapper is here to get money, with the motto: get money, spend money. While the hip-hop game has seen an influx of teenage rappers as of recent, this kid is a beast. In fact, rapping is second nature to him, describing it as “easy” with the ability to create bangers in minutes. In addition to his most recent project _Glen Baby 2_, it’s his standout single “Intro Part 2” that has the streets going crazy. The visual itself hails over 7.7 million views on Youtube having only been released a little over a year ago. Priding himself in his ability to spitting the real, it’s his stop-and-go flows and hard-hitting bars that fans can’t get enough of. He states, “If you a street n\*gga and you understand what I’m talking about, you gon’ fuck with it. You gon’ feel what I’m saying, you won’t have a reason to hate on me.” Flaunt Magazine caught up with real name Aaron Harbor to discuss his upbringing, why he’s still independent, his Top 5, and more! **How would you describe your sound?** To me, it’s new. I don’t think anybody sounds like that. Just the way that I rap, it’s uncharacterized. At first, everybody was saying I rap off beat. Now my fans, they understand the way I rap. They see other people trying to do it, but it’s just me. **You’re from East Arlington, Texas, what were you seeing growing up?** Ain’t gon’ lie when you come from the city, it’s a lot of backstabbing. Your partners are snaking. You might be with your partner one day, he’ll love you and he’ll kill for you, then 17 hours later, he’ll want to kill you. Am I lying? \[turns to friend\] I just had somebody say that, I seen him not too long ago. I came from the crib, and he claimed I can’t come back to the city. Nothing happened. What’s crazy is that he texted me and everything, was acting like it was cool. But he doesn’t know that I know that, straight up. **What do you make of that?** It made me stay away from everybody really. I was at the house chillin’ for 3 months. We be on the Northside of Arlington, we don’t really be in our hood because it’s too dangerous for us. We might come through get some food, get some crab. We be on the Northside in the city in the studio. We got our studio life, our studio’s really poppin’ out there.  **How important is it to come to LA as an up and coming artist?**  It’s important because you never know who you’re going to meet or run into. Plus, you just glow up out here. I done went up 7,000 followers just being in the mix and being seen. That’s what’s making me stay out here too, constantly going up. We counted earlier, we’ve been here 14 or 15 days.  **Did you get a return flight?**  We came out here and we drove to the Bay for Rolling Loud. Drove back, we had a flight here at LAX but we’re like “we ain’t going.” We wanted to stay out here. **Favorite part about the West Coast?** Shit, you could smoke damn near anywhere. We do that in Texas anyways, but you better not play with them folks. Out here, you don’t gotta put your blunt down if the police drives past. Shit’s cool, that’s what I like. Then I like how everybody be out here.  ![](https://assets-global.website-files.com/62ee0bbe0c783a903ecc0ddb/6472bb02d948f9c3d49c8c9e_image-asset.jpeg) **At what point did you realize this music thing was forreal?** I guess when I was meeting labels and shit. I’m like “they want to fucking pay me to talk?” Damn, okay.  **What labels were you talking to?** I talked to Def Jam, talked to RCA. I done talked to Interscope before. I done talked to Hitco before, Alamo. I’ve talked to a lot of people, I just never really cared.  **You wanted to stay independent on purpose?** Yeah, I don’t really know how that shit works. I don’t know how labels work but I know it’s some bullshit. I know that for a fact. **One of them had to have been talking good money, no?** Yeah, I got a situation that I’m working on. But it ain’t even no major label... Quality Control. I had talked to P not too long ago. First, I talked to Offset and he put the word in for me. P hit me not too long ago, we met. We were going to put something in a situation, but we never did it. Now, it’s time. **What do you like about QC?** They know the young wave, they know what’s going on. They’re going to make you step outside your comfort zone, but they gon’ make you stick to the code. Because P and them some street n\*ggas, they’re not going to make you do nothing crazy.  **You’re name is inspired by spending money. You got it like that?** It ain’t even like that, you get money and spend it. Splurge on shit: weed, whatever you do. **What do you spend your money on?** Weed and food. I used to buy a lot of clothes, but I don’t really care for clothes anymore. I got burnt out on that shit quick. I still like it, but I don’t really care about it. I used to be in the mall every two days. **What does SSG stand for?** It’s a secret. I’ll probably tell people down the line but right now, that’s my label. That’s the team. We gotta come up with some type of rap phase for it. It’s like “he’s SSG, he’s SSG!” It’s an organization. We gon’ eventually… when we can do what we can do with it. It’s a label right now.  **“Intro Pt. 2” is going crazy! Bring us back to that studio session.** It was just me and Beat By Jeff, and probably one other person. He just turnt on the beat. I always rapped on my man’s beats but that one, I really slept on it for a minute. My homeboy told me “man shoot a video for this, this shit hard. This shit crazy.” I shot the video, it went crazy. Because I already had the “Intro,” that people liked, but that one was way better than the one before. It’s way harder. **Where’d you shoot the video?** I shot it right across our apartments. PE, that’s what we call ‘em back home. We shot it across the street though, in the next apartments over.  **Best memory from the shoot?**  Just having that feeling that “this finna be the one.” Having that feeling at the video shoot, we’re like “damn, we gon’ see what this shit do.” I was already going crazy but “Intro Pt. 2,” everyone was fucking with it. **I know Texas got some crazy gun laws. Are you concerned promoting guns in your music? Or is that just normal in Texas?** Yeah, but it’s the real! You have to understand it’s the real, because everybody got a gun in Texas. Not just people who proclaim the gangster image or anything, everybody got a gun. I’m just giving them the real. I just got caught with a gun in the city, before Rolling Loud.  **Are you licensed to carry?** Hell nah. It’s just a little case, a little misdemeanor. Texas, they’re not lenient on the laws but it’s so common to have a gun that why would they try to slay you for a gun if it’s common to have? That’s like getting slayed for some weed out here, it’s crazy.  **How’d they catch you?** I was parked outside of someone’s house blocking the fucking driveway. I didn’t know you couldn’t do that. Because I was in Arlington, Texas, they just fucked with me. They smelled weed on me. **How does hometown love compare to elsewhere?** It’s love, but it’s love from a lot of older people. In the city, I get love from a lot of people. **Who are some others from Arlington?** Really nobody. I guess Tay-K, he just got some time. They gave him 50 \[years\]. I didn’t really know him but everybody liked what he did. Because he’s young, there’s no reason to hate on him. But they just gave that motherfucker time, that’s Texas for ya. **Who else from Texas do you look up to? Y’all got legends!**  Probably nobody. It’s legends but… Walk. Sauce Walka, but there ain’t nobody who reached out to me. We got big people like Travis Scott, but I don’t really look up to them. Most people from Texas who really go all the way to the top, don’t come from where we come from. They probably come from where we come from, but not the way we did. The way we do shit. We don’t really relate to what we got going on. **What about Yella Breezy?** He said he’s never heard of me, so I never heard of him. Straight up. We’re 30 minutes away from each other, Dallas is 30 minutes away from Arlington. Yella Breezy cool, he doing his shit. I think he on tour with Chris Breezy right now, he poppin’ his shit.  **Congrats on _Glen Baby 2_, what’s one thing you want fans to get from this one?** Appreciate it. I just want them to know this shit’s real, I don’t need nobody to help me do this shit. This shit real, I don’t even have to rap. I just rap to make money really. I just be showing this is real shit. If I wanted to be a star, I could go be a star. **What’s stopping you from being a star?** Learning this shit I guess. Everybody can be a star, but who’s a happy star? Man, ain’t nobody’s a happy star.  \[chuckles\] N\*ggas sad and madder than a bitch right now, but got millions of dollars though.  **Do you manage yourself or are you dolo?** My mama is my manager. That’s my producer right there, this my security guard \[points to homie\]. Everything’s in-house. flaunt magazine splurge @hs89dal -3.jpeg ![flaunt magazine splurge @hs89dal -3.jpeg](https://assets-global.website-files.com/62ee0bbe0c783a903ecc0ddb/6472bb01d948f9c3d49c8c96_flaunt%2Bmagazine%2Bsplurge%2B%2540hs89dal%2B-3.jpeg) **How easy is it to freestyle and spit off the dome?** I don’t really be rapping and rapping, I just punch in bar for bar. That shit’s easy. I be making songs like that \[snaps\]. That’s the easiest part: rapping. 20 minutes for real for a song. If I’m feeling good, I can really make a song in 10 minutes, and that’s with the engineer prolly taking too long. I make a song quick.  **What’s a normal day in the life? Walk us through.** Wake up, put on some clothes, and link up where we be on the Northside. Everybody links up on the Northside. It’s a studio, but we don’t even be here rapping all the time. It’s like a brotherhood. Everybody fuck with each other there, that’s just where we chill. Stay out the way. No bullshit going on over there. **Three things you need in the studio?** Most definitely some weed, some gas. I don’t even care about it being the best gas in the world, I just have to smoke. I have to have my partners with me, and some water. That’s all I need. **What are some goals yourself as an artist at this point of your career?** Not going to lie, I’m trying to go number one now. I’m trying to get some plaques now, I really  didn’t care at first. But now that shit looks cool, so why not? I’ll go get some plaques, that’s what I want to do. That’s what I’m finna do. Really just have the label jumping, that’s one of the best artists on the label \[points to homie\]. He’s his own manager and everything. **I thought that was security?** He’s that too. They make sure I’m where I need to be, then I make sure they where they need to be.  **Being only 18, what do you do to have fun?** If we’re not with no bitches, we chillin’. We don’t care about no fun. We did a lot of shit at a young age. \[chuckles\] N\*ggas done did a lot of shit. I just be tryin to stay out the way now, there’s too much shit going on. Fun is when your ass gets in trouble. Fun don’t bring nothing but trouble.  **What would you be doing if you weren’t doing music?** \[whistles\] Probably somewhere up to no good. Doing something I’m thinking it’s good in my head, but up to no good. Shit, same shit we were doing before we thought about a song: trying to get money. **Who’s your favorite person to follow on IG?** Probably my mama. She be posting motivation shit all day, like “no bullshit today!” She just makes a n\*gga think about yourself, without saying it to you. **What’s the best encounter you had with a fan?** We were in the mall at this Cinnabon thing. I had a dude walk up to me and sing an old ass song, probably my first song that I made. It fucked me up, it damn near scared me because the song’s not even on Youtube no more. I’m like “what the fuck?!” He’s like “I’ve been fucking with you bro!” Damn, that’s crazy. I made that at the crib so they know what I’m doing, know what’s going on. **Top 5 right now?** Him, my boy Meech, my brother Fat, my brother Juice. I’ma throw some mainstream n\*ggas in there. I fuck with Lil Baby, because the way he’s doing shit and he fucks with me on a personal level. Somebody played him my music and he shouted me out on the Gram. We ended up linking in Miami and some more shit. We were turnt as shit, smoking dope. He brought me on the sprinter and everything, I fuck with him for real. When I’m in Atlanta, I be with his partners. Baby hard. Other than that, I fuck with Uzi — but not because of his music. I just see how that n\*gga’s an icon. He’s just a young icon for real, that n\*gga crazy. He done got a Bugatti, that’s motivation.  **How much is a Bugatti? I don’t know cars like that.** An M at least. At least half. I don’t really know cars like that, but I know about a fucking Bugatti. **Where are you going to be in 10 years?** We going to be somewhere on the island, just chillin’. We’re going to be out there 30 deep on the island!  **Anything you want to let us know?** Just be ready. Just watch out.
