Behind the cute embroidered underwear brand, Poppy Undies, is model and actor Emily Labowe. Labowe hand embroiders every natural cotton underwear herself and even though she also makes underwear for men, Poppy Undies is primarily female-focused. An emphasis is put on making everyday underwear that are both comfortable and of quality while at the same time being confidence-boosting. By embroidering by hand, Labowe creates undies that each are unique and one of a kind. “I started embroidering about 2 years ago when my mom taught me on a Passover matzah cover. I thought underwear and intimates would be a special and equally private place to be embroidered. I love drawing free hand and collaborating with different people to make unique pairs each time. The imperfections of doing it by hand also adds a real and special element.” says Labowe.
After previous collaborations with Panache Booking and Planned Parenthood, Poppy Undies is now partnering with northern California-based intimates brand Stay GLDN. Shawna Lauringson, founder and designer of Stay GLDN wanted more than “everyday underwear” so she created “underwear women want to wear EVERYDAY”.
Together Labowe and Lauringson created a cute and - very - limited collection of two bottom pieces and one bralette. Support your local female artist and get a pair of these kickers, go to Stay GLDN before they’re gone !
