Art and music, longtime birds of a similar feathers, joined forces Saturday night at LACMA’s annual Muse Til Midnight, the event where house heads dance their cares away backdropped by pieces constructed by artists such as Xu Bing, Zhu Jinshi, and Liang Shaoji . Have you ever visited a museum and thought “Wouldn’t it be great to throw a party here?” Attendees at Muse Til Midnight got this exact unique opportunity, drinking curated cocktails provided by Showtime, laying down their best moves to music provided by house music’s brightest names, zone out while listening to avant garde music, and, of course, check out the museum’s stunning art including their newest exhibits such as The Allure of Matter: Material Art from China. The music, curated by Ninja Tune, featured some of music’s most exciting and challenging artists. On hand to soundtrack this event was Actress, Octo Octa (who released their newest album Resonant Body the day before), Yu Su, Julianna Barwick, and Ana Roxanne.
