Marcel Duchamp left a legacy that informed a plethora of artist’s practices and perspectives to this day. The French artist lived from 1887 to 1968 and was a huge presence in cultivation of “ready-made sculptures, his philosophical lens that pushed art further than other artists and movements of his time. Although he is heavily associated and gave influence to dadaism, he was adjacent to the movement and not directly involved.
A new documentary titled, _The Art of the Possible_ outlines his life, philosophy and impact as one of the most influential modernists of the 20th century. Directed by Matthew Taylor and released on March 10th, it is available for viewing both on amazon and iTunes.
Notable artists and theorists included in the documentary are Ed Ruscha, Thierry de Duve, Linda Dalrymple Henderson, Jeff Koons amongst others.
