Sad Night Dynamite, brotherly duo Archie and Josh based in the UK, release their debut, self-titled mixtape. The self-titled mixtape offers listeners a look into SND’s world. The mixtape harnesses both light and dark, using a infernal, fantastical approach. The tracks can be whimsical at times, contrasted by other nightmarish pieces. From “Icy Violence,” set on a beach but based on a kidnapping, to “Killshot,” a realistic look at a surveillance state, and “Smoke Hole,” a look into getting stuck in your mind, it is clear that the mixtape spans numerous dimensions of thought. Prepare to be sucked into a part of your imagination that you didn’t know you had.
The pairing has been seen with FKA Twigs in the studio, and has received praise from Gorillaz, Shy Girl, Ashnikko, Jeshi and Billy Walsh, showing that the band has set itself up for success in 2021.
