Relocating to Los Angeles for its Summer 2027 show, ZEGNA provided a ray of light amid the June gloom. Embracing the spirit of la villeggiatura—the Italian ritual of seasonal living in a new location—the show at Malibu Pier offered guests a chance to slow down and savor the Mediterranean sensibility of easygoing elegance.

Drawing from the ZEGNA family tradition of “villeggiare,” or staying in a villa, Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori presented a summer collection defined by vertical, fluid silhouettes, irregular stripes, and striking color blocking. Sartori’s approach to leisure dressing was spontaneous and relaxed, yet retained a distinct sense of Italian refinement. Shirts were crafted from nappa, nubuck, crocodile, or silk; striped suits offered customization, with shirts featuring detachable collars; safari jackets were constructed with adjustable belts; and double-breasted blazers added an element of formality. Further channeling the villeggiatura ethos, looks were paired with slippers and moccasins, nubuck bags, and silk scarves.

The collection was saturated in oceanic shades—acquamarina, acqua, onda, alga, and marea—punctuated by pops of boa and madrepora, creating a soft color-blocking effect reminiscent of the 1970s. Sartori’s collection revived pre-1980s Italian traditions while offering an ever-evolving take on summer leisure. Balancing adaptability and movement with an inherent sense of propriety, ZEGNA Summer 2027 embraces a lifestyle that is both comfortable and effortlessly stylish.
