Danish electronic innovators WhoMadeWho brought their groundbreaking sold-out live show to L'Olympia Paris recently, showcasing their distinctive fusion of music and design in one of only four live performances scheduled for 2025. The exclusive event highlighted the trio's collaboration with renowned architecture firm BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) and design studio flora&faunavisions, featuring a mesmerizing stage installation centered around a striking inflatable sphere.
"Olympia is such an iconic venue, and we felt honored and privileged to get the chance to play there. We are humble Danes, so it was with great awe that we approached this show," the band’s Jeppe Kjellberg shares. This reverence created a compelling dialogue between the historic Parisian venue and their contemporary design vision—an approach that earned them 'Best Live Performer' at the 2024 Beatport Awards.

The Paris performance coincided with WhoMadeWho's debut collaboration with fashion house Antoniolli, cementing their position at the intersection of music and high design. This September, they'll extend this relationship by bringing their festival concept, The Momen,t to Milan Women's Fashion Week, establishing themselves as cultural curators whose influence reaches beyond traditional electronic music boundaries.
Behind the spectacle lies a considered approach to performance. "Before a live show like Olympia it is a special time," the band explains. "The crew has been working for days to make everything perfect. We try to keep calm on the outside, but there is this sense of alertness on the inside." Their pre-performance ritual includes dining with close friends and family "to unify our forces," culminating in an intimate group hug before taking the stage.
WhoMadeWho's vision extends to their festival series The Moment, now expanding from Copenhagen to Portugal's White Sand Mountains in May and Milan in September. The festival transcends conventional formats with castle dinners, yacht excursions, and curated performance environments—each element contributing to a unified sensory journey.
By collaborating with architects, fashion houses, and design studios, WhoMadeWho elevates electronic music beyond sound alone, creating sophisticated cultural experiences that seamlessly integrate music, space, fashion, and design into a cohesive artistic statement.
