SHØWGUN is a brand-new band putting a brand-new twist on a classic sound. Far from being alone, they are part of a new vanguard of musicians. They have shown that they have the skill. A band this young does not typically receive hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok. Yet SHØWGUN is no ordinary band. 

Out of California, they have heard the common refrain to countless young bands that they are not likely but doomed to fail. SHØWGUN says no to this discouragement. Each group member has taken the time to hone their craft with a sound that speaks for itself. 

Ray’s experience is a case in point. Told what to do for so long, he chose the path less traveled. Plenty of kids grow up with the choice of “success in academics vs. uncertainty in art.” His was no exception. Clashes between himself and his family convinced Ray to get better at the guitar faster than anybody could ever expect. Mastering the bass, Olive hopes to make her late father (first and foremost a bassist) proud, reaching his level of dexterity. 

This sense of the outsider, of wanting to find their world, also extends to the other half of the band. Jax on drums adds to this delicate mix with an easy-going temperament that helps the band kick out the jams. Finally, Aris lets his voice soar above the bar, telling their story as one. 

SHØWGUN deserves to be taken seriously with a sonic journey that just began.
