The city is warming up, the park is sunny and the dogs want out. Louis Vuitton presents the Spring-Summer 2024 Men’s Pre-Collection by Pharrell Williams and the theme of this summer is anthrozoology. Portraying the cosmopolitan culture of dogs and the humans that walk them, the collection explores the wardrobe borne out of this symbiotic relationship. From daily promenades to park life, there will be no shortage of good boys this summer.

Saluting the dapper dog walkers of New York City, the collection assumes a sense of dandy daywear expressed in casual wardrobe elevated by a spirit of formality. Rooted in the preppy codes observed in typical dog show attire, elegant lines and a neutral palette retain the markings of a classic gentleman’s wardrobe while intrigue is added to garments through textures spanning complex weaves and illusionary motifs. Man’s best friend is put on a pedestal in portraits, patterns and graphics featured throughout the clothing and accessories, including a new line of dog-specific items.

Spotting the best in the show– the collection features paws as subtle accessories and dalmatian coats to honor owners resembling their dogs. A Damier-jacquard navy tracksuit is worn as formalwear, while a Duke of Windsor fairisle knit underscores the collection’s heritage mood. Celebrating a dog owner’s ultimate gesture of devotion, a painted portrait of an Italian greyhound is immortalized on a silk foulard souvenir jacket. Adapting elements of the dog’s wardrobe, a Dog Collar Loafer garlanded with a metal buckle and a Mary-Jane in aged leather are inspired by elements of a dog’s collar. Best of all, Louis Vuitton launches a selection of discerning dog accessories as part of the collection. As an ode to humans and dogs who dress in matching outfits, the collection’s black velvet berets for humans come in dog size as well.
