The subterranean ballroom of Castle Ferreira in San Diego transformed into a cinematic fever dream for the invite-only Cine Horror gathering on November 1, 2025. The castle, a medieval-inspired landmark celebrated in Architectural Digest Italia and California Home & Gardens, set the atmosphere before guests even crossed the threshold. High stone walls, towering archways, and a sense of grand, intentional scale made the entrance feel like stepping onto an elaborate film set.

Guests descended a winding staircase into the basement and discovered a fully realized concert venue carved beneath the castle. The room held tight to its gothic identity, with textured stonework, a mezzanine lined with VIPs, and the Ferreira’s incredible bar shaped with organ-inspired architectural details and serving Lalo Tequila cocktails for the evening to the nearly 300 guests who filled the underground hall.

Once the lights dropped, the event’s reputation as one of the West Coast’s most sought-after nights felt well deserved. Celebrities mingled with Los Angeles nightlife leaders, queer community pillars, and fashion risk-takers. Cine Horror is one of the rare environments where people arrive in full fantasy yet move through the room ready to connect. Conversations spark. Laughter spreads. Ideas exchange between strangers painted as villains, spirits, and cinematic apparitions. The energy feels both elevated and wide open.

Even the event’s founder committed to the illusion. Jeff Jordan, public speaker & health behavior change leader, appeared in a hyper-realistic custom suit he had created inItaly, modeled after the the iconic Xenomorph, the legendary Alien creature from the Alien film franchise, sculpted with obsessive detail.

Kesha delivered a tight, explosive set that hit with full force. She opened with Cannibal, shifted into her recent single JOYRIDE, and closed with the global anthem TikTok. The crowd moved as a single body, responding with the kind of emotional surge that reinforced her place at the center of modern queer nightlife and performance culture.

The dancefloor never slipped. Evan of AS IF, part of the nightlife collective behind the production, launched the room into motion with a cascade of familiar bops that united the crowd instantly. Brenna Jordan followed with a set that reflected both evolution and identity. Known to many for her viral 2014 interruption of a Las Vegas news broadcast where she danced full throttle to Lady Gaga’s Applause, she returned here with sharpened presence and command. Her expression, movement, and energy carried the room.

The guest list blended L.A. glitterati, queer creatives, fashion disruptors, and nightlife icons. Brandon Rogers appeared in a Beetlejuice interpretation that channeled theatrical chaos into something sculpted and deliberate. Ashlee Keating arrived as a latex-clad, high-gloss reimagining of Little Red Riding Hood, complete with a cape that sliced the light with every step. These choices read as declarations rather than costumes.

Cine Horror has grown into a cornerstone of West Coast queer culture and nightlife. It is a space where risk thrives, where fashion and performance collide, and where attendees act as both audience and artistic contributors. Its legacy already includes performances by artists such as Kim Petras, Slayyyter, Tommy Genesis, and Allie X, and each year the expectations rise. The castle’s stage has quietly become a coveted platform for performers seeking a moment steeped in spectacle.

The iconic location of the event - Castle Ferreira

The venue shaped everything. The stone, the depth, the mezzanine, the organ-styled bar, the cavernous underground setting. Together they elevated every look, every track, and every movement into something more cinematic. Cine Horror didn’t simply happen at Castle Ferreira. The castle was a part of the performance.
