Kathy Schenfelt is one of those rare people who didn’t just climb the ladder; she built her own. From her teenage years (age 14, to be exact), coding websites in remote Patagonia to running one of the most exciting female-led media companies in Los Angeles, Kathy has carved out a space for herself and others in an industry long dominated by traditional faces.

A self-described fangirl-turned-executive, Schenfelt started her journey by launching a fan project for one of pop culture’s highest grossing franchises, The Twilight Saga, while still in high school. That snowballed into opportunities to collaborate with Summit Entertainment. And then Lionsgate. And Disney. No connections, just the internet, curiosity and grit.

Today, she is the founder and CEO of SCH Entertainment, a powerhouse media company that’s become home to four distinct endeavors: Missmanaged, Good Harper Films, The W List, and Guests Only.

Each project reflects Schenfelt’s creative fire, business brain, and deep love for storytelling and community.

Building SCH Entertainment: One Idea at a Time

SCH Entertainment began in 2019 as a bold leap forward. Kathy had spent nearly a decade in digital marketing and talent strategy. She understood the market. More importantly, she understood people. SCH was born as a place where creativity didn’t have to compete with commerce… It could fuel it.

The company became an umbrella for everything she had built and dreamed of building. That includes The W List, originally launched in Argentina in 2014. What started as a social media marketing agency evolved into a go-to digital strategy firm for major studios and record labels, having worked with every media giant from Netflix to Universal Music Group.

But it didn’t stop there.

Missmanaged: Talent Management with a Backbone

Under the SCH umbrella, Missmanaged took shape as a full-service talent management firm. But don’t let the name fool you. This operation is anything but chaotic: “The ‘miss’ in our name is a nod to the fact we’re women-owned and have always represented female identifying talent”, Schenfelt is quick to add.

Missmanaged serves artists and top-tier content creators with a hands-on approach that includes everything from IP development and licensing to rights management and brand deals. It’s been recognized by Business Insider as a Top Influencer Management company and continues to oversee the careers of their multi-hyphenate roster.

Guests Only: A Table for Women Who Get It

Hollywood likes to talk about women supporting women, but Schenfelt went and created the space for it. Guests Only, launched in 2025, is more than a dinner series. It’s a lifeline for women in entertainment looking for connection that doesn’t feel like a networking event.

Born out of a therapy session and a sense of burnout, Guests Only is a curated community that brings women together in small, intentional gatherings. No egos. No dress code. Just a chance to talk shop and life with other creatives who’ve been there.

These invite-only dinners in LA and NY are already making waves and filling a gap in a field that is known to be extremely isolating.

Owning The Room

Success in this industry doesn’t come easy, especially if you're a woman. Schenfelt knows that firsthand. At twenty-three, she pitched a female-led series in a room full of twenty men: “I knew from the moment I stepped in that I had a point to prove because they’d sent twenty male executives to watch me try to explain why we needed more women in positions of power.”

With fewer than 20% of entertainment companies led by women, Schenfelt is set on building the infrastructure to change that.

What’s Next

Kathy is interested in people. In projects. In stories that spark something. Her dream is to keep doing what she’s doing, just on a bigger scale. That means nurturing talent, investing in bold ideas, and continuing to create safe, meaningful spaces for women in the industry.

She is also rewriting the Hollywood playbook. In fact, she's making a new one. And although each of SCH Entertainment's creative endeavors nurtures a different part of her vision, they all share the same goal: elevating voices and stories that deserve to be heard.
