Montreal-born rock/metal band Druidess (@drvdiess) is carving a path of their own with a sound that’s raw, emotional, melodic, and sometimes straight-up chaotic, in the best way. Made up of vocalist Beiss, guitarist Vera, drummer Valenstine, and bassist Lennox, the group has quickly built momentum through their distinct artistic identity and genre-fluid approach.

The band name “Druidess” comes from Type O Negative’s “Be My Druidess,” a nod not only to one of their biggest influences but also to the nature-centered spirituality that inspires a lot of their visuals and symbolism that echoes throughout their music, visuals, and creative ethos. Their music blends pieces of grunge, shoegaze, and metal, but the band avoids boxing themselves into a single subgenre.

Influences range from Type O Negative, Soundgarden, and Black Sabbath to deeper cuts across underground rap, jazz, and classical music. “It’s never intentional,” the band shares. “We just write what feels natural. We share the same roots as the artists we grew up on.”

Their latest album, All You Are, captures the full spectrum of human consciousness and emotion. Rather than anchoring the project to a single theme, the band aimed to reflect the complexity of simply existing. They channel the highs, lows, introspections, and shifting storylines that come with life.

“Every song has a time and place that can be listened to for the optimal experience, and that’s based on what the listener wants,” Druidess explains. “If the listener can enter a meditative state and purely focus on the song, that is the ultimate outcome.”

Fans have already formed a deep connection with the group, often reaching out to share how Druidess’ music has helped them through pivotal moments or become part of personal memories. That emotional resonance fuels the band’s mission as they move into their next chapter.

Looking ahead, Druidess plans to remain selective and intentional with future shows, focusing on performances where they can deliver a fully immersive experience. With new music already in progress, the band continues pushing the boundaries of what rock and metal can be. “Our goal is for every album to have a completely different sound,” they say. “Some things can’t be explained, you just have to hear it when it’s ready.”
