I suppose that the first time you record a new song, you capture it right there. I think the moment that I write something that I feel like I’ve completed, that’s what gets me going. I think you can transfer that and share it with people in whatever format you use, and in that moment, they respond to it in your presence, whether it’s a live show or whatever. I guess that transference goes from Point A of writing it through the chain of formats and all to the human brain, where they respond to it one way or the other. I think we either are relating to what is in the song, or we are relating to the joy that everyone is feeling together at the same time, and that makes us feel good. When I go to shows, that’s how it works for me. It’s like I’m relating to the music, and that’s making me happy. I guess I’m lucky in a position in life where I can, I feel joy anytime I play because I love what I do, and I’m lucky enough to be able to do that.
